"You can't teach what you don't know, and you can't train others in skills you don't possess." ~ Gary Peterson, usgunclass.com

Adam is a born teacher as well as a very qualified one. My wife and I had a really good private lesson. He was perfect for her first firearms experience, and for teaching me safety protocols I’d never been exposed to.

Graduate: Gunsite 250 Defensive Pistol Course

Owning a piano does not make one a pianist any more than owning a handgun makes one a good shooter.
— Colonel Jeff Cooper, Founder of Gunsite Academy

The original ‘American Pistol Institute’ (API) now known as Gunsite Academy offers firearms training to elite military personnel, law enforcement officers and free citizens of the US.

Gunsite was founded in 1976 by Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper, author, columnist, professor, WW II and Korean War combat veteran.

The goal of the United States Concealed Carry Association Instructor Program is to enable our instructors to effectively teach the responsible, safe, and effective use of self-defense firearms in accordance with state and federal law.

The United States Concealed Carry Association Instructor Program trains, certifies, and equips instructors in the discipline of carrying defensive firearms. Our instructors receive quality training and support and must demonstrate their competence and ability to teach others in a classroom environment.

We do not seek to live in the past, nor to live in fear of catastrophe. We do, however, hope to bring the wisdom of the past and the knowledge of traditional skills with us into the future.

"Better people through adversity

The second half of the BOSS mission statement focuses on the development of people through experiences in the natural world. Our courses take place in the wilderness for a reason: Mother Nature is one of the greatest catalysts for insight, growth, renewal and discovery. Hike through the astounding beauty of Southern Utah and you will not be the same. But more than that, BOSS facilitates an experience within that wilderness that seeks to take you out of your comfort zone and put you in a place where you must stretch to grow – physically, mentally or emotionally. This is especially true on our Field courses, where we may intentionally push your buttons. Not in a malicious or sadistic way, of course, but in a way that is consistent with the rites of passage that have always given people the chance to transform into something better." ~ www.BOSS-inc.com/about

"Accidents happen. People get hurt, sick, or lost. The temperature drops, the wind picks up, and it starts to rain. Would you know what to do? Many backcountry emergencies are preventable, and even when bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse. By learning a few basic skills, you can make the difference between a good outcome and a bad one-and maybe even save a life." ~ https://soloschools.com/sponsored-wilderness-first-aid-wfa/

The Log Home Builders Association is an educational association that teaches average men and women how to build a log cabin. We do not work with commercial or “kit” builders, only owner-builders and others who are interested in building a “real” log home for themselves.

Alaskan Wilderness Adventure

Lake Clark National Park and Preserve

scan0023.jpg

In June of 1998, when I stepped off the pontoon of a float plane into the icy waters of the Twin Lakes in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska,

everything changed for me...

As I waded through the shallow water to the shoreline, I began scanning my surroundings.  Overcast sky—turquoise water—high mountains to either side—fine sand on the shoreline—salmon skeletons—bear tracks—lots of them—wilderness in all directions.  For the next six weeks we spent our days clambering up valley glaciers and over high-mountain passes.  We walked for weeks across the tundra.  We camped among thousands of caribou making their annual migration.  We bathed in glacial rivers and lakes and sat for hours in the evening watching the endless arctic sunset as the sun dipped low onto the horizon but never quite made it below.  No matter how long we sat watching, night never came.  It was beautiful...
